Android 4.3 for Nexus 4 leaks out

Android 4.3 Nexus 4 leak

Boy, for not even being official yet, Android 4.3 sure has been in the news quite a bit lately. Now we've got another leak to add to the pile, as Google+ user Jeff Williams has posted the JWR66N build of Android 4.3 for the Nexus 4 online for all to download. Williams claims to have gotten hold of his Android 4.3-powered Nexus 4 by buying it from a Google employee on Craigslist. After sharing the screenshot you see above, he got some help from the Android community and uploaded the system dump.

So far it sounds like this build of Android 4.3 is fairly similar to the one that recently leaked out for the Google Play edition Samsung Galaxy S 4. There doesn't appear to be many user-facing changes, but Google has likely made quite a few tweaks under this Jelly Bean's hood to improve its all-around performance. One new feature that some users may notice is a new camera app with a slightly-tweaked UI that was originally included with the Google Play edition Galaxy S 4 and HTC One.

Any Nexus 4 owners that can't wait any longer for a taste of Android 4.3 can install this leaked build right now using TWRP (TeamWin Recovery Project). The leak is said to be missing its radio and bootloader, though those are are expected soon. Of course, if you're not totally comfortable with terms like "recovery" and "system dump," you might be better off watching from the sidelines. We here at PhoneDog aren't responsible if you try to install this leaked version of 4.3 and end up turning your Nexus 4 into a glittery paperweight. And hey, the official Android 4.3 announcement could come next week, so you may only need to exercise a little more patience.
